Meet Danielle Moodie: Activist. Analyst. Social Entrepreneur. Tireless Advocate for Justice.

Danielle Moodie co-hosts democracy-ish, a weekly rundown of the presidential election and overall politics from a Black progressive point of view. She also hosts the daily series Woke AF and recently launched a new weekly podcast, PM Mood. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg—girl got stamina!
Turn on MSNBC these days and you’re likely to hear her weighing in on issues affecting underrepresented voices in America, including women, people of color, and LGBTQ folks. From the scourge of voter suppression to violence against women to white nationalism, Moodie consistently challenges the status quo and calls on society to address the issues that prevent us from becoming a truly great nation.
She’s also an adept cultural commentator, delivering insights on how figures like Aretha Franklin have helped shape the story of America.
Danielle’s resume is impressive. With more than a decade of experience—from the classroom to Capitol Hill—she has been named one of The Root’s top 100 African American trailblazers, a “Forty Under 40” LGBT leader by The Advocate, and one of Washington’s most influential young leaders by Washington Life magazine.
She served as an advisor with the Fighting Injustice to Reach Equality (FIRE) initiative, which she launched with her wife, Aisha, at the Center for American Progress.
Her policy analysis and cultural commentary have been published in a variety of media outlets including The Atlantic, Ebony, Essence, The Huffington Post, and others, and she makes regular appearances on MSNBC, while also being featured on Logo multiple times.
Danielle began her work building equitable and sustainable communities in the classroom as an educator specializing in early childhood and special education at a District of Columbia public charter school. She holds an M.Ed. from George Mason University and a B.A. in Politics from Marymount University.
Her accomplishments are too many to list here, but you can read more about Danielle on her LinkedIn profile.
